PsychoHairapy for Teachers and Students

Hair is a key site of identity formation and self-esteem that has been largely ignored or misunderstood by educators. Findings from the PsychoHairapy studies demonstrate a need for more anti-biased and anti-racist educational environments that prioritize racially affirmative practices–specifically practices that allow children a safe developmental space to embrace the cultural nuances related to their hair.
